So for my first blog post, I've got to start somewhere. This weekend I did a wedding that ended up being on the other side of the moon, i.e., 56th AVENUE and the 101---gees...I think thats somewhere in avondale or deer valley.
Here's the catch...I somehow did not realize how incredibly far that was since the mapquest address was not working. So I take my sweet time getting ready, making prints for the reception...etc...
Until, in the car, I find out from the MOTB...(mother of the bride) exactly WHERE IT IS.
I shall not repeat what was going through my mind.
I've got 1/2 hour to get there, in rush hour. Luckily I had my gear and a change of clothing with me, so I head straight there. I contemplate the fact that I will have no time to change once I arrive. So what's a girl to do? Change in the car. While driving. On the freeway.
I proceed to make sure there are no other cars around me while I put the car on cruise, and just hope the person in front doesn't look in the rearview mirror.
Which leads to my being Houdini. I not only made it on time, I arrived fully dressed, which involved my changing pants, shoes, and shirt in the car. Yes. while driving. And NO...no one saw me, so cease your mocking! The MOTB could not belive I got there so fast. I did a little victory dance.
Disclaimer: Please do not attempt this in your car. I am not proud of this, as it was an act of desperation. I am not condoning the practice of unsafe driving, and was extremely lucky the people behind me did not report me for drunk driving. On a side note, here is a wedding shot from the wedding: (sorry, no shots of me changing in the car. Except maybe from the speed cameras...
